SHABAP

Delete Your SHABAP Account

You can permanently delete your SHABAP account and personal data at any time — even if your subscription has ended. Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription paid on shabap.ai immediately, so you won’t be charged again.

Subscribed in the SHABAP iPhone app? That subscription is billed by Apple, and only you can cancel it: open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SHABAP → Cancel Subscription (or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions). Deleting your SHABAP account does not cancel it.

Subscribed in the SHABAP Android app? That subscription is billed by Google Play, and only you can cancel it: open the Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SHABAP → Cancel subscription (or visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). Deleting your SHABAP account does not cancel it.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in to SHABAP (in the app or at app.shabap.ai).
  2. Open Profile and scroll to Delete Account — or open this page in the app while signed in.
  3. Type DELETE (or your email address) and tap Permanently delete my account.

Can’t sign in? Email shalom@shabap.ai from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you within 30 days.

Delete some of your data (and keep your account)

You can remove individual things at any time inside SHABAP, without deleting your account:

  • Guests and their details (names, phone numbers, dietary notes): tap the × next to a guest
  • Dishes, meals, notes and shopping items: remove them from your Shabbat or chag page
  • Family members and photos: Me → Profile, then edit or remove the person or photo
  • Recipes and saved menus: Library, then delete the recipe or menu
  • Bubbe (AI) permission: Me → Settings → AI Assistant turns it off, so nothing more is sent to OpenAI

For anything else (for example your Bubbe chat history, location or past Shabbatot), email shalom@shabap.ai from the address on your account, say what you’d like removed, and we’ll delete it within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile, email, password and linked Google/Apple sign-in
  • Your preferences, reminders, notification settings and devices
  • Shabbatot and chagim you planned on your own — menus, guests, RSVPs, shopping lists, seating, notes and prep plans
  • Your recipes, saved menus, contacts, guest groups and family members
  • AI assistant chats and usage history
  • Your subscription (cancelled immediately in our payment system; App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled by you in iPhone Settings or the Play Store app)

What is kept, and why

  • Shared households: if you plan with a co-host, they keep the shared Shabbatot, guests, family members and any of your recipes used in those meals — it’s their data too. Your account is removed from the household.
  • Other hosts’ events: if you were a guest, the host keeps their own guest list and RSVP records for their event. Guests, reminders or recipes you added to someone else’s event or menu stay with that host.
  • Community records: shuls and minyans you created, announcements and kiddush sponsorships stay with the community (no longer linked to your account).
  • Billing records: our payment processor, Stripe, keeps payment and invoice records as required for legal, tax and fraud-prevention purposes. We never store your card number.
  • Backups: deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
